Inauguration of I M Jayaram Shetty Memorial Circle
Philanthropy is the humaneness we are all capable of expressing. It’s the kindness you show to strangers. Philanthropy simply means “the love of mankind.”
I M Jayaram Shetty was the true philanthropist in every sense. He dedicated his entire life for the cause of rural development, creating rural employment and infrastructure to the needy rural students. The result is the setting up of the well-known charitable trust MNBS Trust which now acts as an umbrella organization for running Institutes of Technology, Management, Degree courses, Pre-university courses and futuristic schools for the new age children and also conducting many charitable activities round the year. Though many Institutes bear his signature of philanthropy, there was a need for publicly commemorate his service to the people of the region of Moodlakatte and Kundapur.
Hence, it was planned by the Trust and the members of the society to commemorate his name in a unique way. It was decided to establish a land mark near the Moodlakatte (Kundapura) railway station, through creating a circle in his name with an artistic representation of his vision. It was to be named I M Jayaram Shetty circle.

I M Jayaram Shetty Circle was inaugurated by Shri K Pratapchandra Shetty former Chairman of Legislative Council at Satvadi-Moodlakatte, near Kundapura Railway Station on his birthday 10th April 2022. Passengers arrive at the railway station in the city through different means of transportation can get a clear direction MNBS trust has created Globe illustration landmark in the memory of Late I M Jayaram Shetty.

The Kannada Film Industry Actor and Director Mr. Rishab Shetty, Kandavar Gram Panchayat President Smt. Babi, Shri Abhijit Kotari, President of Udupi Mahalaxmi Co-operative bank Shri Yashpal Suvarna, entrepreneur Dr Govinda Babu Poojary, President of Kundapur Railway passengers’ welfare committee Shri Ganesh Puthran, family members of late I M Jayaram Shetty, Smt. Vidya Jayaram Shetty, Mr. Rathan J Shetty, Mr. Siddarth J Shetty, Smt. Vatsala Sudhakar Hegde, Rama Balakrishna Shetty and Mr. I M Rajaram Shetty. Staff and Faculty members of IMJ Group of Institutions were also present on the inaugural programme.

Trustee of Basrur Shree Mahalingeshwara Temple, Shri Appanna Hegde said that suitable maintenance plan is needed for the Circle to maintain its cleanliness and usage. Shri Appanna Hegde was speaking after inaugurating Late I M Jayaram Shetty Memorial Circle, which is built in the memory I.M.J of Shetty, former MLA, MP and founder of IMJ Group of Institutions. Smt. Vidya J Shetty of MNBS trust welcomed the gathering. Librarian of MIT College compered the event. Trustee Mr. Siddarth J Shetty rendered the vote of thanks.
